Now, what are SMART goals?

You may be thinking he is talking about SMART objectives but what are they?

SMART is an acronym of 5 elements:

SMART stands for:

  1. Specific
  2. Measurable
  3. Achievable
  4. Relevant
  5. Time-based goals.

Let’s talk about each one of them.

1. Specific:

What is the specific goal that you want to achieve? Be specific.

If your goal is to get more conversions then you need to be specific in how many conversions you want. Conversions are the leads you generate from your marketing campaigns.

Similarly, if you want more followers on your social media channels you need to be specific in terms of numbers.

If you will be specific you and your team will have a common objective and thus will work together to achieve it faster.

2. Measurable:

How you are going to measure your campaign performance & what will you measure?

In case of your marketing Ad campaign, you need to know how many impressions it got and out of which how many people clicked your Ad & what action did they take.

So you might have got the idea of what you need to measure in order to improve your campaign’s performance and reach your marketing objective.

3. Achievable:

Here you want to improve your Ad quality score & decrease your Cost per Click or engagement.

In order to achieve that do some A/B testing. Change Ad text, image or Headline. Make sure you change only one variable at a time.

4. Relevant:

You have to make sure that your Ads are highly relevant to your audience. This is because if your ads are not relevant you will end up paying more & won’t get great results.

5. Time-based:

Every goal needs some time but to finish it on time is very important. You need to set a time limit for your objective. This way you will stay focused and more productive.

For example, you want to get at least 2 conversions per day with using Google AdWords campaign is your time-based goal.

Thus set a time limit for your goal so that you and your team can work together to achieve it.
