How to add custom link as menu in your WordPress Website?

Here is the step by step guide on how to add a custom link as a menu in your WordPress website.

Step 1:

Log in to your WordPress website dashboard.

Step 2: 

 Hover over your mouse on Appearance and select “Menus” from the dropdown menu.

Step 3:

Here, click on “custom links”.

Here you will have the option to enter the ‘URL’ and the ‘Link text’. So, here enter the URL of the website, you want to send your visitors and add the link text to specify what this is about, so there will be no surprises. 

Step 4:

Once, you have entered your URL and link text, click “Add to Menu” to add it to the menu.

Now, this will get added to your website’s menu.

However, it’s not finished yet. One small step. 

You will see screen option on the top of your screen besides help, click it and under the boxes, select ‘Link Target’ box. 

This will give you the additional option in your custom link menu you have just added to open the link (Menu) in a new tab.

If you select that option, your website will open in a new tab leaving your current website open in the background (Users may choose to come back to your website once done)

Now, click ‘Save Menu’ to save all the changes done.

Now your link will get added to your website’s menu. And if you have selected ‘open link in a new tab’ option, this will open in a new tab.
