1/ Define your Marketing goals –

First, you must define what your marketing goals are and how you’ll measure them. For example, to measure direct sales, you need to identify your website’s conversion rate based on the amount of traffic your website receives and the website visitors you’re attracting.

Your ultimate goal should be to attract a targeted audience (prospective customers) for your niche. For example, let’s say – on average, your website receives 1000 visitors per month and converts only 10 of them into sales, which means your website’s conversion rate is only 1%. This means 99% of your website traffic is not converting, which is not a good sign. Then, in this case, your goal is to improve your conversion rate.

2/ Understand your audience –

To achieve your business’s marketing goals, you must know your target audience. It will help you figure out what sort of content you need to create for your website, ad copies etc.

In other words, the content you create should answer the questions that your audience is asking, which is extremely important. Everything else is secondary.

People search for keywords when they have to solve a problem, and they want to be directed towards a solution. You should create content that solves the problem. The very first thing you need to do is research and know your audience.

  • What are the problems they face?
  • What solutions are they looking for?

The second step is to analyze and understand their demographics (age, location, interests). Is your audience large or small? Where do they spend time online?

The third step is to break down your target audience into smaller target groups.

Finally, you will have your buyer personas ready. You will now have a clear picture of your audience and thus will be easier to reach them.

3/ Create a content marketing plan –

Now you have created the personas for your target audience. Based on these personas, the next step is creating high quality targeted content that answers their questions and provides them with the solutions. Also, decide what form of content you want to create – such as image creatives, blog posts, videos or infographics.

Finally, publish the content on the relevant channels to reach your audience. If you don’t post it to the right channel, it won’t yield the results you are desperately looking for!

Your content will increase your website traffic, improve your website’s organic rankings (SEO), and as you know, more traffic means more leads.

4/ Review your performance

Once you have published your landing page and launched your marketing campaigns on the respective channels such as Facebook, Google or Linkedin etc., it doesn’t mean that your work is complete.

Now you need to work on a daily basis to monitor your site’s performance, such as its conversion rate, bounce rate and finding how users are interacting to improve it further. Similarly, after you have launched your campaigns, spend time analyzing the metrics such as website clicks, number of conversions etc. In other words, metrics that matter to your business.

5/ Revise and Rework

Ask yourself, “Have you accomplished the marketing objectives you required for your business”? In simple words, how effective was your overall digital marketing strategy. If you are not satisfied with the current results, revise and rework until you get the desired outcome.

Even if you have, the objective is to keep improving it further.
